TYSONS BUSES NOW USING EXPRESS LANES

OmniRide's Tysons Express buses will begin using the new I-495 Express Lanes on Monday, November 19.  PRTC believes that Tysons Express customers will have a faster and more predictable trip in the Express Lanes; however, because the Express Lanes have not yet opened, we're unsure of exactly how much faster the trip will be.

In the mornings, pick up times at the two Woodbridge bus stops will remain the same, and passengers can expect to get to work faster.  In the afternoons, pick up times at the Tysons area bus stops will remain the same, and passengers can expect to get to Woodbridge faster.

Once PRTC collects new data on travel times when using the Express Lanes, OmniRide's Tysons Express schedules will be updated.

Also as of Monday, November 19, OmniRide's Tysons Express buses will no longer serve the bus stop at Galleria before Tysons Boulevard.  This stop is being eliminated because it is located after the Westpark entrance ramp to the Express Lanes.  The closest alternate stop is at Westpark and Jones Branch.
